Raycap named “Best Mobility Innovative Provider“ by Global Carrier Community

Post Falls, Idaho – August 26, 2020 – Raycap, a global leader in infrastructure and power protection solutions for telecommunications and other sectors, was named “Best Mobility Innovative Provider” at the fourth annual Carrier Community Awards in Berlin. The international jury of experts recognized Raycap’s InvisiWaveTM technology, which protects and conceals 5G installations, as a groundbreaking development in the expansion of 5G infrastructure in cities around the world.

To provide continuous coverage for fixed wireless access (FWA) and mobile applications, 5G small cell sites must be lower to the ground and significantly closer to one another than previous wireless sites that were mounted high up on macro towers. In fact, the 5G wireless infrastructure will comprise six to 12 times more cell sites than earlier generations, deployed on nearly every city block. Cities can rely on 5G concealment to make small cell sites blend in with existing architecture and structures.

Conventional cladding, however, is usually made of a material that affects the signal strength too much, which is why Raycap developed InvisiWave. This novel material enables carriers as well as local authorities and city councils to combine signal strength, network coverage and aesthetic requirements for the first time. Coverings made of InvisiWave, a unique patent-pending composite-based material, allow antennas and transmitters to be hidden without significantly affecting the 5G signal strength. The Carrier Club of the Global Telecom Community has now honored this development at the annual Carrier Global Community Awards with the award in the “Best Mobility Innovative Provider” category.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and associated restrictions, this year’s awards ceremony took place partially digitally on August 25. Numerous award winners expressed their thanks for the award via video message. Among them was Volker Lange, Vice President Sales EMEA at Raycap. He explained in his speech why InvisiWave was developed: “We wanted to find a way to design the 5G infrastructure in cities in such a way that it does not attract attention in the cityscape. At the same time, it is important that the cladding does not affect the signal quality. Based on this objective we developed InvisiWave.

The Carrier Community (CC) is an exclusive global platform, operated by the “Carrier Club of the Global Telecom Community”, for networking and branding in the telecommunications industry. The annual awards are presented in 47 different categories, including numerous regional awards, but also global prizes. The jury, consisting of 15 experts from all areas relevant to the telecommunications industry, selects the best and most innovative companies in the various categories and awards them the prestigious prize.
