Raycap Adds Flexibility with New Side-Mounted Shroud Series

New Series 3 cage shrouds enable easier service and future upgrades.

Post Falls, Idaho – April 25, 2023 – Raycap, a global leader in infrastructure and power protection solutions for the telecommunications sector, has expanded its lineup of cage shrouds to better accommodate today’s open access (Open RAN) and distributed antenna (DAS) networks by enabling different telecom OEM and carrier equipment used in 4G/5G networks to be easily mounted together in the same cabinet. The new Series 3 Shroud accommodates the shift from single-use-case configurations to broader, more versatile roll-out installations with an eye to future equipment needs.

Raycap is known for its unique surge protection technology specifically designed for the DC power environment at cell sites, innovative concealment, custom equipment shrouds, and telecom cabinets supporting wireless telecom infrastructure. Raycap side-mounted cabinet solutions are made from aluminum and feature an aesthetic and lightweight modular design strong enough to support a variety of equipment while enabling passive heat dissipation.

Series 1 Shroud

Supports a variety of radio OEMs and radio quantities and has space for a fiber box and a power supply. A frame in the middle supports the radios in a back-to-back configuration. All radios are supported with individual brackets developed for specific products and attachment points on the middle frame structure. This cabinet style is available with a rectangular or curved door.

Series 2 Shroud

Supports a variety of radio OEMs and radio quantities, and has space for a fiber box and a power supply. A frame at the back supports the radios in a fixed configuration, and all radios are supported with individual brackets developed around specific attachment points on the back frame. This cabinet style is also available with a rectangular or curved door.

Supports a variety of radio OEMs and radio quantities and has space for a fiber box, a power supply, and other optional equipment. Interior products mount on a backplane designed with a peg board style, accommodating multiple attachment point options and enabling more flexible equipment configurations. The shroud has a future-proof design that will allow for the easy removal or addition of equipment, while the cabinet doors are removable and can be replaced with more oversized doors while in the field if needed. An add-on fan tray is optional.
