Raycap’s new contract with the Public Power Corporation of Greece for FUSEGATES in Kastraki HPP |
September 2009: Raycap was awarded by PPC in 31/8/2009, a turn-key contract for the supply and installation of a FUSEGATE system with the scope to increase the storage capacity of Kastraki hydro power plant.
Kastraki HPP is the second biggest HPP of Greece, with installed power of 320 MW and storage capacity of approximately 55 mil m3.
The FUSEGATES system will be installed along the spillway of Kastraki HPP, 120m of length, and as result it will double the storage capacity of the dam. According to a study carried out by the National Technical University of Athens, this investment is expected to be paid back in less than one year.
The scope of work of this Contract includes a detailed study of the system, model tests in the Sogreah lab in France, manufacturing, installation and trial operation of the system. The project will be delivered to PPC by April 2010.
